Could all members please take note, if you submit a membership renewal without completing the form in full, your application will be rejected. This could result in you loosing your place in the club. We have a waiting list with over 100 people wanting to join the club, this number includes the 30 winter members from last year. Membership renewals must be with the Members Secretary no later than the 15th March 2012. Any member submitting a renewal request after this date will be placed back on the waiting list and will have to pay the re-joining fee once a place is offered.

All Ashfield Members are reminded that they must hold and be in possession of a current valid Rod Licence for every two rods they fish with. These will be checked by our EA Rod Licence
Bailiffs annually and any member found fishing Ashfield waters without the relevant licence(s) will be expelled from the club immediately and reported to the Environment Agency.

FLY TIPPINGwickersley angling
Fly Tipping is becoming a problem at some of our venues and to get this removed costs your club money not to mention takes up committee members time to deal with it when they could be doing more worthwhile work for you. Also needless to say it looks terrible having someone else's rubbish littering your fishing venues. So if you witness anyone dumping rubbish or littering our venues then please make contact with the club secretary John Taylor a.s.a.p with details of vehicle reg number and any description of the offenders doing it. Help us to keep your venues tidy!

THANKYOU!Anglers World Holidays

BAILIFF POSITION - The committee are pleased to announce the appointment of two new bailiffs at Thrumpton Mr Mark Sheldrick and Mr Steve Brown. We would like to restate the club rule at Thrumpton of strictly no night fishing. This means no fishing during the hours of darkness and members are only allowed to be on the Thrumpton Estate from dawn till dusk.

Torne Valley Logo As a member we would like you to send us feedback and comments by using the online forms on this site.

If you would like to discuses anything about the club or anything that you think would be of interest to other club members then please get involved.

You could tell us all how you are doing on one of our fantastic venues, or maybe you would like to bring something up at the next AGM, as long as it's clean then we would be more than happy to include it on the site for all to see.

Youngsters and Fishing....
Helping the younger generation to get involved in fishing is what all clubs Ameliashould do and at Ashfield Angling Club we are no exception. Here we have James (Trustee to the Club) at Cauldwell Dam showing his young four and a half year old daughter how things are done on the bank. This was Amelia's first fishing trip and judging by the photos I don't think it will be her last.

Amelia managed to land a three-quarter pound roach followed by a nice looking golden rudd. She caught both fish using the top section of her dads pole and a rod rest to help her hold it steady.

All in all, she caught about a dozen fish the majority of which were perch. Well done Amelia and we hope to see you on the bank again very soon. AmeliaAmelia
