Winthorpe Lake. The lake is some 15 acres with a pretty even depth of around 7/8ft at normal level. The bottom has silt/gravel areas with little or no weed at all, and no bars, its quite flat. The margins are from nothing, sloping out gradually. The lake level does rise and fall with the adjoining river Trent and at times quite fast. It has two no fishing areas which are that way for the wildfowl and fry in and around the lake and are from the third gate along the track to the fourth gate/metal barge. and from the Old mans peg to the cut through to the river Trent. The lake holds a good head of Carp/Bream/Roach/Perch/Pike and the odd Zander.

It also has a 650 mtr stretch of the river Trent to fish with terrific Barbel/Chub/ Bream/Carp and Pike. The bank has good spaced out pegs and pretty good access to the waters edge, the river is accessible via the lake access gate and you can park your car behind you on every peg.

As with all our venues please do not prune or remove any trees or reeds around the lake, this can only be done by the bailiffs after consultation with the committee.
